Just some of my favorite links and fun facts about me and my dog (THEO!)
I make my home in the heart of Hell's Kitchen in New York City, the best neighborhood in the world! Some non singing facts: I have a thing for people calling me "Ms. Richardson"--I LOVE it! (not miss, it has to be ms.) Some day, I'd love to sit down for a cup of coffee with Madonna, my idol and inspiration growing up and the reason I started taking voice lessons and studying dance and music in the first place. I never imagined it would lead to the styles of music I perform now, but hey, whatever works. I enjoy a good drag show and I eat ketchup on almost everything. I love Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga, keeps me sane and in fantastic shape, along with walking all over Manhattan in heels. I'm often asked by Young Frankenstein fans, "has anyone ever told you you look like Teri Garr?" I also get Barbara Streisand, Lady Gaga, and Renee Zellweger, often depends on the hair. Oh, and I love shoes. Like, a lot.
It's Theo!!!
This is Theo,
my wonderful little yorkie buddy, all grown up. Isn't he handsome?
Theo's an absolute angel and often goes undetected in many a public
venue. He almost never barks or makes any noise at all, except for when
he's chasing squirrels. He enjoys chew toys, sticking his head out car
windows, playing with his best friend Katie (my partner's 65 lblab/chow mix!), coming to rehearsals, playing with feet, and Kraft singles--he comes running every time he hears me unwrapping a slice! He hates getting wet and he ABHORS getting his nails clipped. Whenever I put his little pink juicy bag on the floor (so cliché, I know) he runs right in no matter what in hopes that he's going on an excursion. My
favorite thing about him is that's he's so earnest, always trying his
hardest to please and to be a good dog. He is loving and friendly to
absolutely everyone and everything. He really is the best--I love Theo!
On April 20th 2006, five of the most wonderful friends and
colleagues I have ever known from Indiana University were lost in a
plane crash on their way back from a rehearsal. You can see the smiling
faces of Chris and Robert in my photo and video galleries, on their
personal websites listed above, and at http://music.indiana.edu/publicity/tragedy/2006-04-21/index.shtml.
They have made some terrific recordings that deserve a listen. Not a
day goes by when you all are not on my mind. I miss and love you more
than words can say.
A fabulous new music ensemble with whom I jump at the chance to perform. Check out the site and some of the recordings! Fun group, great colleagues, and above all, some interesting and high quality music making.
Arielle Doneson is a splendid and fabulous photographer with whom I
have had the great pleasure to work. I highly recommend her as a
headshot/promo photographer-Her photographs are gorgeous, check out her
website! And she's a wonderful soprano too!
