Just some of my favorite links and fun facts about me and my dog (THEO!)

Some non singing facts:  I have a thing for people calling me "Ms. Richardson"--I LOVE it! standingleaning(not miss, it has to be ms.)  Some day, I'd love to sit down for a cup of coffee with Madonna. My favorite saint is St. Jude, the patron saint of difficult cases and hopeless causes. I enjoy a good drag show and I eat ketchup on almost everything. Occasionally, I amuse myself at the gym, but have been more into Ashtanga Yoga lately. I'm allergic to just about everything in the air. I used to be quite the equestrian and miss being around horses a lot. I'm often asked by Young Frankenstein fans, "has anyone ever told you you look like Teri Garr?" I guess that just about covers it!

The biggest selection in sheet music, scores, and classical music cd's. I miss not having it across the street.

www.nfcs.net

The New Forum for Classical Singers. This is not a bad place to get the latest dish--who was sitting in on your last audition, what did everyone think of the latest Metropolitan Opera broadcast (or American Idol finale), where to find practice or warm-up space in just about any city, voice teacher/coach recommendations, etc. Of course everything is to be taken with a grain of salt, but there are many knowledgeable folks who frequent the forum and it's a nice place to network, make friends, and learn a few things.

The cancellation of this show has outraged thousands of fans (including me!!!!) Please HBO, bring back Carnivale!!!! The show, set in the depression era, is chocked full of exceptional actors, brilliant costumes and art direction, and outstanding original music. Every episode is like watching a movie-catch it on demand if you have comcast, or buy the dvds on HBO.com--it's so worth it!!

On April 20th 2006, five of the most wonderful friends and colleagues I have ever known from Indiana University were lost in a plane crash on their way back from a rehearsal. You can see the smiling faces of Chris and Robert in my photo and video galleries, on their personal websites listed above, and at http://music.indiana.edu/publicity/tragedy/2006-04-21/index.shtml. They have made some terrific recordings that deserve a listen. Not a day goes by when you all are not on my mind. I miss and love you more than words can say.

A fabulous new music ensemble with whom I jump at the chance to perform. Check out the site and some of the recordings! Fun group, great colleagues, and above all, some interesting and high quality music making.

www.arielledonesonphotography.com

Arielle Doneson is a splendid and fabulous photographer with whom I have had the great pleasure to work. Also a talented actress and soprano in her own right, she is an artist who understands artists, which shines through in her photographs. She has a wonderful knack for helping her subjects feel at ease, and for feeling out the needs and personality of everyone she shoots. I highly recommend her as a headshot/promo photographer-Her photographs are gorgeous, check out her website!

www.PerezHilton.com

I love Perez! This trashy hollywood dish site is the best way to keep up with the good, the bad, and the ugly in the celebrity world. Also check out www.tmz.com. I'm admittedly a sucker for this stuff when I'm looking for something fluffy and mindless to read.

It's Theo!!!

This is Theo, my wonderful little yorkie buddy, all grown up. Isn't he handsome? Theo's an absolute angel and often goes undetected in many a public venue. He almost never barks or makes any noise at all, except for when he's chasing squirrels--or when he gets mad if he accidentally gets locked outside or can't manage to jump up on the bed without help. He enjoys chew toys, sticking his head out car windows, playing with his best friend Katie (a 65 lb lab/chow mix!), coming to rehearsals, playing with feet, and kraft singles--he comes running every time he hears me unwrapping a slice! He hates getting wet and he ABHORES getting his nails clipped. Whenever I put his little pink bag on the floor, he runs right in no matter what in hopes that he's going to get to go shopping or come to a restaurant. Do you like his haircut? I trim it myself, I just hold him over the trash can with my left hand and snip with my right.  My favorite thing about him is that's he's so earnest, always trying his hardest to please and to be a good dog. And he really is the best--I love Theo!

www.ebay.com

I'm an addict, I admit. My mini disc player, microphone, camera, MP3 player, scores, designer dog carriers/purses, multiple pairs of shoes, audition dresses, hair extensions, concert gowns, fur coats, bumper stickers, jewelry, essential oils--all purchased on ebay!  You name it, you can get it on ebay.

www.craigslist.com

With all the travelling that I seem to do, what would I do without craigslist? It's a giant, free, classifieds-type site with listings for every major city in the states and many around the world. Find subletters, furniture, temp jobs, and the man or woman of your nightmares on Craigslist! There's also some pretty funny rants and raves. Don't forget to check out the "missed connections" section. Very amusing.
